Well, I see the NorCal and SoCal 4x4 threads, but those are sometimes too far for me to drive for a day trip or overnighter. How about starting this tread for people in Santa Barbara/Santa Ynez/Santa Maria/Nipomo/Five Cities/SLO/Atascadero/Paso Robles area, and hopefully we can get posts from people in the central valley that travel out to the coast a lot. Just wanted to give this thread a shot. I have an '87 Land Cruiser that is just dying for some wheelin'.

Yeah, Pismo isn't bad, but when you live here, it gets old, which is why I wanted to start this thread. But I'll go anyways, keep everybody here updated. BTW, thanks Mods for sticking it, hopefully we can get some stuff going. I was hoping to not call it midcal since there is such a difference (drive time to get places, scenery (no offense Bakersfield/Fresno), and temperature) between central valley and central coast cali, but it will do. Thanks.

Anybody hitting the Pismo Dunes this weekend??? Our office is in Grover Beach, and we were just in Pismo at Vons. Trucks with ATV's and bikes everywhere. Gunna be a busy weekend.

I was out at pismo last weekend and it was even pretty busy then. I plan on staying away this weekend though, I figure since I can go whenever I want I'll skip the huge crowds and craziness.

Land Cruiser Surf N' Turf is happening in two weeks on the Pismo Dunes. The "MOB" is well over 400 trucks, mostly cruiser, but some Tundras, Runners, FJ Cruiser, Tacos, etc. All Toyotas welcome. Best part, it's free.
