Will do. My buddy and I both live in Roseville, we'll find a good place to meet and a time as we get closer to the date. My initial thought is near the Golf Land Sunsplash place at I-80 and Eureka Rd, easy off and easy on the freeway.

That sounds easy enough for me. If you could send me an email when you find out all the details I'd appreciate it. I'm not on the forums all that much. Well, at least not the Tundra ones. I use it mostly for tech issues like having to do my TB soon...argghhhh!

This coming Sunday's snow trip is still on! One of the guys going is thinking about renting a Hummer H3, that should be entertaining!

I believe the plan has shifted from the Eagles Lakes trail to something a little lower in elevation as the snow level is expected to be down around 1,000 ft by Saturday!

Instead, we may head to Auburn and then east towards Foresthill. I was out that way last weekend and "played" on some roads that had anywhere from 4 - 12+ inches of snow. It was a blast. (See attachment) Then perhaps over to Greenhorn near Grass Valley to round out the day.

We'll be finalizing the meeting place and time real soon. Everyone welcome!

Meeting time is 8am Sunday morning the 12th at the Golfland Sunsplash parking lot in Roseville. Take I-80 to the Eureka rd off-ramp and cross over Eureka rd, it becomes Taylor rd. Golfland is about an 1/4 mile ahead on the left hand side. There's a Shell gas station there as well.

The actual address is:

1893 Taylor Rd.
Roseville, CA. 95661

If you want to Mapquest or Google map it. This trip has been designated family friendly! Snow ball fights at some of the stops is mandatory!

I'm waiting to gather them up from several different sources, then I'll post them under an album. We had a great time! The snow level was down to around 1,000 feet. We 'played' between 3 and 4 thousand feet, so there was plenty! We had a fairly early start, so we were the first ones on the trail cutting fresh snow. You'll have to wait just a little bit longer for the pics.

As promised, I finally have them posted in an album. Here's a link: Road to Sugar Pine Lake. There was only a little body damage (not to my truck!), thankfully no one was hurt.

I uploaded them in the order they were taken. Enjoy!

It was really no big deal, a very slow motion kind of thing. The irony is that he had just pulled out 4 other trucks that were stuck on an icy road (none of our group). He had placed his passenger side tires in the ditch to gain some leverage. After the last truck was free, he started backing up and cranked the steering wheel hard left. This started the right front tire climbing the embankment, then the left front went down into the ditch and with his very high center of gravity, over she went! Thud!

The drivers door dented along with the front fender and the mirror broke off. It's a dedicated trail rig and he has another door at home. No glass broke either. He used his winch connected to a tow strap wrapped around a tree to anchor the front, then we hooked up two of our trucks with a tow strap around his rear bumper and slowly pulled forward. It dropped back onto all 4's quite nicely. We let the truck sit for several minutes and then she fired right up! No other damage. What a great day!!!

Default Saturday, March 25th!

Here's another outing planned by a guy here at work (sorry for the late notice). This is for next Saturday the 25th. We are going to meet in Auburn at the intersection of hwy 49 and Bell road in the Target parking lot (north east corner of the intersection) @ 7:30 - 7:45am, leaving by 8am. Then we're heading up to Greenhorn (near Grass Valley/Nevada City) and down to the river bottom. We'll probably spend a 1/2 day there, then on to either Washington or back towards Foresthill where my last set of pictures were taken.

Trail rating would be categorized as "easy". 4wd not required, but definitely an asset. We'll have a winch and numerous tow straps, just in case. This is the same place where Chris tried to impersonate a sub. If you want to go, let me know!

Thumbs up Re: NorCal 4x4 Excursions - 2006

Last chance for tomorrow! Looks like we'll be getting some rain later today and into tomorrow with snow levels starting @ 6,000 feet, lowering to 4,000 feet by Saturday. We could end up with a mix of rain and snow.

PERFECT weather!!!

Ya'll may be getting tired of my photo's, but here's the latest from last weekend in an album - Greenhorn and Finning Mill Rd. This time no one flopped their rig on it's side and we only needed the hi-lift once. This is probably it for 4 wheel'in until May.

See ya!
