Default Anyone in the OC area?

Hey there, I'm Cliff. I've got a 2000 Tundra with lotsa stuff done to it and I'm not finished yet. I keep running into little issues with different noises that I've been hearing lately. I've taken it to Toyota and they never seem to figure out what's wrong. I know that I'm not crazy and hearing things so why is it so hard for the guys at my dealership to figure out what's wrong? I would like to meet up with someone in my area that has similar enhancements done. Maybe I can start getting everything fixed that nobody else can without holding on to my truck for a few days.

Enhancements Done Already:
All Weather floor mats
Bucket Seats w center console
(JL Audio 10” stealthbox under center console)
Carbon Fiber Dash
Clarion MP3 CD player
2 Kicker Comp. VR-12’s
600 Watt Audiobahn amp
Indiglo Dash
K&N F.I.P.K. 2
JBA Headers
3 ½” Flowmaster Exhaust
Tow Hitch & Wiring
16.5” Mickey Thompson Rims
2 ½ “ Sway Away – Off-Road Racing Coil Overs
Camburg Uni-Ball Upper A-Arms
10 Pack of Deaver Rear Leaf Springs w 2” Race Runner Shocks
All New Bushings & Lower Ball Joints
Precision Regeared to 4.56
Eaton/TRD Posi Rear Differential
Jet Performance Reprogrammed Chip
Tru-Speed, Speed Calibrator
Aluminum Bed Extender
Clear Corner Lenses
Slotted & Drilled Rotors w Carbon Kevlar Brake Pads

Future Mods or things I need repaired or replaced:
Exhaust or Headers make a fluttering sound
I hear a whining noise that increases with acceleration
Replace Grille w TRD or similar look? (Need ASAP!)
Replace tail lights
Replace All Fenders with Fiberglass with about 3" flares
Remove Side Molding
Fiberglass Hood w 2 Pins in front attached to shocks in rear still
Spray In Bed liner
Custom Paint Job
Custom Steel Tubing Front bumper with Skidplate
Custom Steel Rear Bumper w Spare tire rack in bed
Replace CD Head Unit
Install Power Cap for 2 Kicker Comp VR 12's
Re-Tint Windows

Anyone wanna hangout and talk trucks? Im in Orange County, CA (city of Orange) I'm down to take a cruise up to the top of Saddleback Mtn. anytime if anyone wants to go lemme know!

Cliff

i hear you loud and clear on this one! I hear a noise when i am at higher speeds 50+ and in some cases at lower speeds and when i accelerate i get a low ticking noise right under my feet! i have it to the dealer, the mechanic, the muffler shop and no one can answer me this one! i was told i have ticking injectors ( which i do have) but there is no way they are as loud as the noise i am hearing!!!!

I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra. Just hit 149,900 miles and started hearing a ticking noise on accelleration. I hear it anytime I accellerate regardless of how long the truck has been running. It is most noticeable between 1400 and 3500 rpm. It seems more severe weh I am doing 70 and accellerate to 75 or 80.

I brought it to Toyota here, they replaced serpentine belt, water pump (both totally unrelated) and of course it still ticks. I brought it back and they can't find the cause. They tested for exhaust leaks and find nothing.

Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Tim

Many have said it's the exhaust manifold. Search a little, there's lots of threads on this subject.

Exhaust leak:
Used a stethoscope?
Valves adjusted?
Sparkplugs tight?
Have you just...........looked? Could it be something touching under the torque load?

Next time you're up on our lousy roads in The Bay Area, I'll introduce to my mechanic, Dex. He can fix it.
