Lets go to Ocotillo Wells!! When: Sunday & Monday May 30-31st 2004.
Per our small group discussion at the Fiesta Island get together.
Finally, it is very nice to see some interest in Ocotillo Wells.
If you would like to join me and a few other TS members we will be heading out to Ocotillo Wells SVRA 4x2's and 4x4's are all welcome.
If you plan on attending please post your interest here. I'd like to get an idea of who and how many would like to join us in the Desert!!
We'll work out more details as we know more.
Ill sleep in the truck .... no way in hell Im gettin up before 10am on Sunday to drive down to SD, it would be nice to wake up in my truck, off-road, ready to go also if I stay down there, theres a better chance of me gettin up at 8/9ish and not wasting half the day...

Just take the 78 all the way to Ocotillo Wells. You cant miss it!
should be real nice out there. they weather is supposed to be nice and warm but not too hot. Perfect dezert weather...Yes it will most likely be very crowded out there. We will hope for the best. I hope to see both you and Matt out there....
I'll have to miss out going to Ocotillo Wells with you guys. They made me work cause its going to be a busy day at the surf shop since everyone is going to the sand which is not the desert. =( maybe next time?
I was up at Monache Meadows Thurs 6/24 to 6/27/04. The jeep trail in is probably pretty tame for you. Have you ever driven the Sherman Pass Road between Kernville and Black Rock Ranger Station? I've read where its too narrow for full-size trucks. If not, I'd like to try it sometime.

Sherman pass is a cool trail! I did it backward (bottom to top) when I was still IFS. A couple Jeepers did believe that I made it w/o any body damage, but there reall werent any tight spots. Might be a different story now tho after the McNally fire torched that area so bad. I did not even go up the hill on that last trip, so I dont know if the Sherman trail is open yet.
Lots of fun fire roads up in the meadows! I hear that the bears have been pretty bad around Kennedy
