I wish I could give you the directions I take but I do it by landmarks not street names!
Here is what Mapquest.com told me from MV to OCO.
Directions to oco

5 south. 78 east all the way....just follow the 78 all the way to Ocotillo Wells. Follow Shelby
I didnt plan on brining my grill, although I will be out there on friday evening. Like to get a few night runs in take some good vids.
Just gonna take dry goods and some drinks.

fooddude .. just go down the 5 till you hit the 78 and go east ... but after like 10-20 miles on the 78 youll get to the 15, soon after that the freeway ends and turns into a regular street, you just have to follow the signs for the 78.
It can get tricky, thats why Im meeting Kyle down in Escondido ... but your headin out late saturday right? or else Id have you meet us.

So Ted can you go?
Ocotillo's got some of the slow winding trails that you like, and also fast trails where you can hit about 65 mph with no problem.
It's a good mix of everything.

As of now, I have to work Fri and Sun. So I can only go Sat morning and head back home that afternoon.
At least I'll hopefully get a chance to see everybody who are going Sat.
