Cool TCH Mileage

Other than using a calculator or pencil and paper, it seems Toyota has missed the boat on having a "cumulative" MPG display. I like the "per tankful" mpg, and relatively like the instant mpg, I would prefer a digital readout for this.

I would love to know what my MPG over a longer period of time, without doing the calculations myself. My '01 Sequoia did this, as does my '04 4Runner, why not the more technically advanced TCH? to Toyota for this.

OK.... so I am not the brightest bulb in the box... does the '08 TCH have this feature and I just haven't found it? If so, shame on Toyota for this minor lack of intuitiveness....

BTW, I LOVE my 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid. 4 Tanks.... 3 hand washes and 2 coats of wax.....

Can I suggest yu use a ScanGauge II. It is a combination Scantool and Gauge set. Very small and plugs into the OBDII port under your dash. $160
The display can mount on your steering column. Like mine. It installs in minutes, literally.

It will give yu the MPG , trip info, etc, all the info. you want and more!

I have an 06 Highlander LTD. with Navigation. I agree that the way Toyota displays MPG is rediculous. My OE display shows a similar MPG layout to yours. And I think it is dumb of Toyota almost to the point of being insulting to us as Toyota owners.

ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool

For the price ,yu really get alot of bang for the buck.

Just my thoughts

With the nav come the energy screen, and there you have to ability to reset the cumulative MPG when you see fit. I use it on a per trip basis, but you could use it for the vehicle lifetime if you don't lose power. Even then, I am not sure if it loses the data with a power outage.

Me, I personally love the analog instant guage as it shows you in a glance if you are increasing or decreasing FE without a lot of quick math. It also shows the rate of change better than numbers changing on a digital display.
