Does anyone know what the ECO switch is suppose to do?? I read it some time ago and as I remember it didn't tell me too much.

I have 30,000 miles on my 2008 Camry Hybrid. I use the switch to get better mileage. When on, ECO shows in the HVAC display. I believe whaqt occurs is the HVAC sys runs with less power, taking longer to heat and cool, but affording better mileage. Yes, I notice a difference.
