I was trying to help the environment and my wallet when I bought the tch.
The nav display helps you to drive more efficiently, it does use less fuel, no idling etc..
I suppose the Amish have the right idea about being green but they do burn wood for heat.
I would like to buy a vw diesel and run biodiesel invented by George Washington Carver and suppressed by the oil industry. Can be processed from any vegetable oil at home. In my humble non professional opinionthat would be as green as you can get unless you walk.
But they probably used poluting chemicals when they made your shoes and or bicycle tires and paint.
