Hey guys, first time poster here.
I just love this site, it is full of good info.

I bought my TCH aboout a month ago and I noticed there is a 2.25" square plastic plate on the left half of the front bumper. I pulled the cover of and saw a threaded hole behind it. Could someone tell me what this is for?

That is used if your car needs to be towed.

Probably your VERY first NEW car

dID YU KNOW THAT New cars Always have one. Very helpFUL TOO.
But, if yu don't open it up, IT is worthless.

Don't be afraid to READ your OWNERS manual. It Does REALLY help yu out with these things. Toyota does explain things well.

This shows up on vehicles coming from Japan the bolt is used as a tie down on board ship. Camry's manufactured in Georgetown, Kentucky don't have it.

I read the owners manual but I guess I missed it.
NO this is not my VERY first NEW car. Since 2000 this is my fourth new car and this is the first hidden tow attach point like this I have seen.

Always read the owner manual as someone here may give advise that is just a guess (as demonstrated on this thread).

I have not looked but it's possible the owners manual doesn't even mention this since there is not much reason to ever use it again (don't plan on shipping it back overseas on the boat).

Saw an article today that states the tow hook is located in the spare tire compartment. It is used to screw into the plastic plug u mentioned, however I haven't even checked to see if the spare tire is really there..

I love you guys and yes you are all correct.

I usually get asked by customers why the threads on their tiedown bolt looked like they have been used. And I tell them because they have. lol
