Does any know if 225 size tires would fit on 17"wheels.

As long as they for 17' wheels....Correct size is 225/45/17HR

225/45/17 will fit on a Gen 1 Solara provided you know that the wheels already fit.

If you're looking to put Gen 2 wheels on a Gen 1 Solara, you're going to need some spacers.
