Default Solara HID Noise

Hi everyone

I have an 07 Solara SLE with OEM HID's. When I flip my lights on and the car is off, i hear this loud, high pitch noise coming from the headlights. I was wondering if all Solara HID's do this? I believe it makes the same noise if the car is on too. However, after the car is on for a while and then shut it off and leave lights on, the noise is almost nill. Im starting to get affraid cause these suckers are really expensive. Also, is it just me or are the HID's on the Solara's more yellow/white than lexus' although they use same philips bulbs?

Ok Thanks, I started getting worried cause I tried taking out the bulb a couple of weeks ago just to check if its OEM bulb cause my lights look to white/yellowish. However, I couldnt get the bulb out so I just put the wires back on and left it. Its after that I turned my lights on with the car off and noticed the sound. I though i screwed something up.

Not sure about the sound because my HIDs are after-market (McCullochs)

The color is the "color temp" (Kelvin rating) of your bulbs. There are charts online that show you the difference, but I believe that OEM is something like 4800K-5300K - it won't start looking "bluish" like Lexus until you get over 6500K on up but also know that higher temp colors can also deliver less light on the road where you need it too.

I have about 58k miles on my solara now and my left headlight (oem xenon) went out while driving. I switched them off then on and it came back on with no discoloration. I know that xenon's will alert you that they are dieing soon becuase they slowly discolor. I still have that loud noise from the headlights when they fire on. I looked at my neighbor's 07 RX350 and his xenon's make no noise. I still think that something is wrong with them. Can someone with an 07 solara fire up their lights while the car is off and check if they hear this loud humming electrical noise? thanks

I have them also, and they do make a noise. Don't worry about it
