Thumbs down Will they ever offer a 5spd manual for the V6 Solara?

My brother has a 2001 Solara and it's a nice car. I wouldn't mind having one with a 6spd manual trans. C'mon Toyota get with it!

Default Solara SE V6 5M

Up here in Canada we had the Solara SE V6 in a stick for 2 years.
It was a great car to drive but not a hot seller. 1999-2000 MY
If you find one you'll have fun!

I think the Solara would kick some decent butt with a man. trans.Don't hold your breath though,it's too "upscale" of a car for that I guess. My wife had a brand new red one when they first came out in '99.Drag raced it only once(she was away for a week and I had the keys!) Got a respectable 15.7 as my best runout of 4 tries(bone stock). Her Silver '03 SLE is even nicer with just as much grunt.

My friend has one..2000 5Sp V-6 Solara. I like driving it when I have the opportunity to. Its cool to watch people's reaction when we blow them away off the line and pull through second gear. I guess they assume the car is auto.

I have a 2000 V6 SE with 5-speed, just over 50K miles. Good fun to drive, but the clutch is getting soft and I need adjustment (hopefully not replacement, anyone know replacement cost?) Think they stopped making the manual V6 in 01. Even the guys at my dealer look for them.

I doubt they will. Toyota seems to have given up on the V6 manual combo again. I had a 99 V6 SE 5-spd and it was sweet!

I doubt it. Too upbeat of a car for the Yuppies to buy with a man. In fact, I'd be happy with just a 4 speed automatic. I have an 06 salara convertable. I drove from Washington DC to Sanford Florida on less than a tank of gas. I took the auto train down! Coal miner

I'm really hating this tranny I must say!

I have to drive it in "Sport Shift" mode almost all the time unless I'm cruising on the freeway - and even then, it's sloppy and mushy and unresponsive. You can tell the car really wants to be a performer - it's just all the computer sh!t that really gets in the way! My V6 Tundra was a much more responsive ride than the Solara is unfortunately.

I really hope Toyota gets a TSB out for the '06 V6 soon... this is really pathetic.
