Default Rear Windscreen for the convertable.

I recently bought a new 06 Solara convertable & bought that rear windscreen but they say there is some defect with it & I won't get it until they correct the problem. Anyone have any thoughts on this or the Solara in general? So far the only defect I could find with my car is it pulls very slightly to the right. Any convertable lovers out there? We ordered ours when we bought the car last week. The dealer called us this week and told us that they are not going to release it for some time. Apperently there was a lot of complaints about them. So we decided to take the money and get Sirrus radio for the car now. Let me know if you finally find one. I live in the Richmond VA area just for you info.

I just tried to order a windscreen through an online reseller and they called to say there is a design flaw and there isn't an e.t.a on new screens. Is there anyone out there that purchased one, and can tell us about the problem?

I finally got my hands on a 2nd Gen Windscreen from a guy in AZ!

It's a real beotch to install, but worth it when you're done! I can still talk on the cell phone at 80mph and the top's down - no prob!

Check out the photos on my CarDomain page here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2247283

Best of luck to y'all!

Jeff

FINALLY got my rear windscreen installed by the dealer - even then it was a big bad job. But it works well & breaks the cyclone effect in the car. It folds down when you don't want it or can be removed completely in a minute. Comes with a nice storage bag & it can be kept flat in your trunk or if you are really fussy you can keep it hidden under your bed away from harms way. I paid $350 for it when I bought the car & Freehold toyota did not charge me any installation fee. PS: It looks chic too. Coal Miner now in New Jersey

$350 installed? You got a great deal! (and you didn't have to make a mess yourself - probably saved-up a lot of cuss words too!)

I love having it on now - even with the top up it doesn't bother me. It's just nice to know its there and ready to go when I am. I also love that I can put stuff in the back seat and not worry about it blowing out now!

I have a 2003 sle conv...does anyone know if the '06 windscreen will fit an '03, and, if so, where I can get one?

Nope! You have a Gen 1.5 (pre-2004 models) nothing's interchangeable from the Gen 1/1.5 and the Gen 2 (2004-2006).

Sorry - don't know if they ever made one for the earlier convertibles or not.
