Default New Solara Convertable 2006

I recently bought a new 2006 convertable LE & was wondering if anyone out there was experiencing any kind of trouble with this model. Would like to hear about it. Thanks, Coal Miner in New Jersey

Default Question About Towing?

I am wondering if installing a hitch for light weight towing will void my warranty? Any one know? My manual says no towing? Any comments? Thanks Coal Miner

HBjeff may have some regrets.

you could always put the hitch on, and if the dealers asks about it just say its for your bicycle rack

Default 04 Solara

I have a 2004 Solara SLE. I do not think much has changed from the '04 to '06 models. I went from driving a Corolla to the Solara; it took some getting used to the blind spots and the acceleration. But, now that I am used to the car, I love the way it drives. Handling is awesome, and the sequential shifter can be fun, and handy! I do use premium gas. I put new tires (Michelin MX series) on at 25K. I have driven in snow/ice conditions with absolutely no problems, to my surprise. If you live in a snow climate, I suggest a long snow brush. Since the windshield is much more horizontal than the Corolla and my truck was, the snow really piles on - front and back. It is a very comfortable car to drive. I was also considering a Lexus when I bought the Solara. I decided on the Solara because the price was better. I paid 25K; this includes the GPS and XM radio/ 6 speakers, pearl paint, leather, heated seats, etc. Congrats on the '06, and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Heya - I'm looking at trading in my 01 Tundra for a new black 06 Solara convert!

You can bet I'll be on the lookout for aftermarket goodies to spruce it up once I get it! (can't ever drive anything stock!!)

I'll keep an eye in here for any updates info anyone has...

I finally got my '06 SLE Convertible about a week ago... I absolutely LOVE it!

Only probs to date for me:

Acceleration has a slight hesitation - might be tranny or injection - not sure yet...

Also - I can't tell if the auto vol adjust on the JBL system is really working or not - seems I still have to manually adjust all the time.

AND... still waiting for them to fix the Windscreen prob so I can get one!!

One more online resource to consider is SolaraGuy.org - there's a lot of help and resources for modding/tweaking your ride there as well!
