Saying Hi - About to buy 2006 Solara Conv.
I would like to say hi and introduce myself a bit (car-wise). I am in Montreal and have leased my last 4 cars (Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible, Sebring LX convertible, 300M and my current 2003 Maxima.
After much consideration, I have decided to return to the convertible world. I contemplated the few available in my price range (basically the $40,000 CDN and under). The most exciting visually is certainly the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse-Spyder. It is a gorgeous car and there will be one available for a test drive sometime this coming week but my feeling is that I would prefer the luxury/comfort feel over the sporty look and the lease rate is a ridiculous 8.95%. I would have to purchase at 5.8% but I really don't want to have the higher monthly payments. Then there is the Pontiac G6 which has a great roof but has 0 trunk space (1.8 cu ft with top open) and it is a GM. The Sebring is what it is and not priced to my advantage. Others are either too small or too expensive.
I WANT THE SOLARA LoL...
Anyways, I am in the process of ordering it and should probably have it next month. This is actually my second toyota. The first car I owned was a 1972 Toyota Corolla which I owned for 2-1/2 months. I quickly sold it once I found out that the car I purchased for $750 used had more than $2000 in repairs needed. Boy, has Toyota (and others) changedsince then.
