Camry-SolaraGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Camry-Solara.
This is a discussion thread titled "Changes for 2007 Solara?", within the Camry-Solara forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
Hi there I'm new to this forum. I'm currently looking to buy a Solara, most likely 4 cylinder. I love my 03 4Runner but the gas is killing me and I don't really need an SUV. Plus the previous owner (my dad) only put premium gas in it before he gave it to me so now I have to put premium or else it runs differently. Here 91 octane is approaching $3.25 yikes! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows if Toyota is going to face-lift the Solara for 2007. I'd like to purchase the Solara within the next couple of weeks, but I don't mind waiting around a little while for any changes.

I think they are going to face-lift the Solara for 2007 because Toyota normaly freshens up the car every 3 years. Camry was introduced in 2002 and was freshened in 05, 4Runner was introduced in 2003 and freshened for 06, etc. The Solara was introduced as a 2004 model so hopefully we'll see the facelift as soon as this summer. Really looking forward to it!
I don't know Toyota's habits well to be able to tell you whether or not the 2007 will have any major changes. Minor tweaks are normal. What I can tell you is the price will probably change and the lease/finance rate will change. It is at a low for that car right now at least in Canada it is. I am about to sign for one this week. I am afraid to wait till May as you never know if the rate will change or not but here it is at 3.9% for 36/48 months lease or 48/60 months finance. If you look at the 07 Camry, the lease rate on the 06 was 3.9 and the 07 is 8.3. The Finance rate was 2.9 and is now 5.9 for the 07. It may pay to get the '06 over the '07. Whatever changes there are should be minor and from what I am hearing, the '08 will be the last.
I hope the price doesn't increase too much! I think the price increase between an 04 Camry and 05 one was only a couple hundred dollars (US). I'm guessing the facelifted Solara should cost around that much too. If you really want a bargain you should wait for the 2007 facelift and purchase any of the remaining 2006 Solaras.
