gas mileage 2006 solara

I'm looking to buy a 2006 toyota solara 4 cyl coupe. I currently have a 2001 camry. Can anyone tell me how the gas mileage is on these cars? the sticker is 24/33, any info?

I have a 2004 Toyota Solara SLE but it is a V6 and I get an average of 25 MPG and that is mainly city driving. I'm sure a 4-cylinder would get even better. Enjoy...I love my car.

My wife has an 06 SE 4cylinder automatic and I usally see about 27-28mpg with a mix of in town and freeway driving. It is better on all freeway and if she drove it a little gentler, but what can I go....

From what I've heard, the 4-banger gets upwards to 30mpg if you baby it and do a lot of freeway driving (with the 5spd stick, that is). To me, an extra 2-3 mpg is just not worth the loss of power, but then you may have more options to upgrade with a Scion Turbo or SC a lot sooner than us poor V6-ers!

I get about 32-33mpg on Highway driving @ 65-70mph with AC on and combined uphill trails on route. AVG with combined city/highway is about 27-28mpg. Oh, that is on the SE 4 banger with the 5-speed manual tranny.
