2004 Solara sunroof noise

Just bought the Solara a few days ago. The sunroof is very loud when we open or close it. Is this normal? Thanks

I purchased an '04 with a sunroof a little over 2 months ago now. When it sat in the hot sun and I would open or tilt it, it made this awful growning noise. Not normal. Toyota replaced everything for me under warranty. Noise is gone and is as good as new.

Take it to the dealer.

Mustang? You know about this one?

No sunroof for me (well, actually - I have the ULTIMATE sunroof!)

Somebody sent me the NV009-06 TSB, but that encompasses some windshield tick noises. I really do not want to see the dealers faces when I tell them that my tick noise is back after only 1 day of driving the car and 2-3 months in the dealer...and then suggest the NV009-06 TSB.

my sunroof makes a groaning noise too. i got lazy though and just decided to deal with it.

however, i recently got some repairs done that required them to mess around with the roof and now when i go faster than 45 mph with the sunroof open, it makes a really loud bass-like noise...which i don't think i can just deal with. i figured out that it's caused by the vibrations of this bar that runs across the front cuz when i put my hand on it, the noise stops. i wonder if there is a way to fix that without having to take my car back to the repair shop. maybe tighten something?
