Your right, it sounds like just the light bulb for the cruise.
your going to have to remve the combiation meter. Turn it around, the bulb housing should twist out about 1/4 turn and the bulb pulls right out, if I remember correctly.
Mustang, went out there and got hit with a splash of cold water..... How do you remove the bezel with the clear plastic cover over the cluster? I was hoping that the four screws were right there as the pic shows, but it appears they are covered. THANKS !!!!

Does anyone know how to disable the seat belt chime an '08 Solara? I've searched and found a couple of suggestions but they didn't work.

I know there are many times we as a DEALER will do that for free for customers, some dealers do, some don't )FREE) they charge for it. We figure it is a simple tool to help keep people happy and really doesnt take to long. It's a win win for everyone.

Well, with your help, I was able to take the cluster off and check the light - it was fine. Looks like I have a loose connection to the light somewhere, just unsure how to chase it.

Well, the signal for that light to come on comes from the cruise control ECU. Then goes thru a junction connector in the middle of the harness and then thru CONNECTOR IF2
then to the combination meter. I added some pdf's for the location and display of the connectors and Cruise Ecu. Your going to have to trace it while it is doing it and see if your losing the ground or power. The power comes from pin 7 (red/light blue wire) of the combination meter connector C13. The ground is controlled thru a Transister in the Cruise ECU (orange wire).

I have a 2006 SLE all black I have two questions first is I take very good care of my car and I have never seen a worse paint job on any car I have ever owned. The paint is so thin there are so many chips on the hood and the sides of the front fenders from stones that are thrown up from other cars I will most likely never buy another Toyota just for that reason.Next does any one know if it is possible to change brake pads yous self or do I need to take it in.
Yes, Toyota Paint is notoriously thin. I recall everyone bitching about it back when I first got my 2001 Tundra. Nothing has changed.
And yes, you can replace your own brake pads quite easily if you know how. Usually only take me about 30 minutes to do all 4 wheels with a hand jack in my garage.
WoW. THANKS !!!! That's a lot of tracing. Will let you know how I do.
You ever find the problem?

My daughter had a 93 Celica GT with an absolutely bulletproof paint job. Likewise for my 99LC. My 2004 Tundra's is decent but my wife's 08 Solara is lacking. Quite a few chips with only 10K miles. Other than that and the underpowered engine,it is a very well built car. If they had used the same V6 in the Solara as they have in the Camry and Avalon, Toyota would have trouble keeping up with the demand.
