Okay, i have a 2006 Solara SE that came with the non JBL radio unit. I purchased the 2007 JBL Radio Unit and had a source i found here on TS make me a Harness and sell me a digital JBL Amp so i can plug the existing 6&10 pin harness from my vehicle into the radio unit which requires the 20 pin connector. It works perfectly, but the rear deck speakers arent puttin nearly as much lower frequency response out as they once were... i mean they almost kicked before! Now i found out that the JBL amp has a Sub Channel but i heard that the levels for the sub are just sub-par!.

Do you think that is due to the way Toyota designed the Sub, Sub enclosure and the fact that it went into a convertible or is it just lacking in performance capability al together?

Secondly, if i were to tap into the sub chanel and use a sub, is there any harm in further amping that signal through another amp to improve performance or will i have to utilize some sort of attenuator before the second amp?

Im not looking to "beat the block" or anything. i would just like a little more lower end respoonse!

I'd have to say that something isn't connecting to your rears correctly, but hard to say personally as I have the 7-speaker JBL system int he Convertible - a different animal.

Hopefully someone else here will have more experience with the coupe.

Does anybody have a tick/rattle on their sunroof? The noise lessened after a few trips to dealer, but it has yet to go away.

Here is a TSB for all Toyotas with tick noises. They are usually from the windshield area, but can sound like they are coming from the sunroof.
May or may not help, but thats all I could find.

Thanks a lot! I've been looking for that particular TSB, but now that I wasn't particularly asking for it, you show up and brighten up my day! What a relief!

Anyway, where are the rest of the TSB's? I can't find the TSBs like I did before...maybe that has something to do with me not loggin in for so long :P

I have an 07 SE solara - love it, but am trying to install my AVIC-Z1 and I can't locate the speed wire. Any ideas? I have searched on here for the answer but I guess I am not holding my mouth right

Unfortunately this isn't a very heavily-trafficked forum for techies who tweaks their rides. The Camry/Solara forums are more of an extended service than a deep-cycle forum.

I would suggest going to SolaraGuy.com and register - more hard-core tuners there that might be able to answer your technical questions.

The wire you need is connector S11 pin 11, this is located in the original radio wire harness. The wire is VIOLET/WHite stripe.

Hey Mustang - thanks once again for being the techie here!

Yeah - SG has its kids over there that's for sure... but there are a few hard-core Solara owners/modders as well.

I wrote asking for help regarding the possibility of getting a rearview camera hooked up to the existing 2008 SLE - voice activated DVD Navigation System. I'm seeing some positive help being offered on this Thread. MY QUESTION: Does anyone have any input on a rearview system for my new car?

Just so I understand correctly....

You want to add a REAR VIEW CAMERA to your existing Factory Nav unit?

That's correct. I have the factory voice activated navigational system that is an option for the 2008 SLE. What I want/need is a rearview camera to provide improved rear visibility.
