Default A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank #2 Sensor #1)

Recently had the oil changed on my wife's car. I'm not sure if it's a coincident or not, but just after the oil change the check engine light came on. I've had the code read at AutoZone and it was P1155, which I have determined from online means "A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank #2 Sensor #1)". Is it likely that something was knocked lose during the oil change? Where is this sensor? Is it likely to need replacement? What is the part number? (FYI... car is a 2001 Solara Convt. V6 with 32k miles.)

Thank you in advance for your reply(ies).

Regards,

Richard

Richard -

I don't have an answer right off - I'll do a little snooping around to see if I can find out for you...

It does seem like something got bumped during the oil change though... I'm just not that familiar with the Gen 1 Solara V6. Amazing that you only have 32K miles on your 2001!!

Hello:
Same situation here. Had oil changed on my 2002 Sienna. That afternoon the check engine light came on, with a code of P1155. Assuming something did get knocked loose during the oil change, anyone have any ideas on what to look for?
Thanks in advance.

Other than checking for the obvious visual cues, the only thing I could recommend is take your car down to Autozone and have them read the error codes for you - they should be able to tell you what the codes are, then you can either fix the problem or take it back to whoever changed your oil/serviced your car and have them take care of what they did to cause it.

this is an interesting problem, but im not sure i have a good solution for you. i do know that if you just pull the oil filter off of a v6 with no regards to the mess its going to make, youll get oil on the side of the block, it drips down on to the exhaust and will get all over the bank 2 a/f sensor. in theory this shouldnt be a problem though, as youre not contaminating the sensing end or anything like that, but after hearing so many of you have the same problem it makes me wonder. as for bumping something etc, the wires for that a/f sensor are clipped onto the transmission dipstick draintube, the only time ive seen a problem like that is if someone pulls the tranny and forgets to unclip it. the only other things i can think of are quite a strech...changed the oil and increased the operating effeciency of the engine...and now the sensor is working in a slightly different range and is unable to adjust, i doubt it.
