Hi

When you say push 'start button twice' What exactly is the start button? Do you havew the keyless ignition?

Thanks

Only difference was the fact that the On/Off does not display.

1. Set the Odometer to just Odometer, not trip.
2. Pushed Start button twice. (To On)
3. After all the lights lit up on the dash I held the trip reset stem in and then clicked my seatbelt on.
4. No long reminder now, just the standard 5 chime for the drivers side seatbelt, then pleasant silence.

You'll have to excuse me here, but I'm really trying to figure out why you asked this question.

Of course I have the Smart Key Ignition....it's a Hybrid.
All Hybrids come with an electronic key ignition.
And it's a 50th Anniversary Edition.

You appearantly missed that little bit of information in that little box up to the right, yes?
lol
What really matters here is that it works, and when I take the dog with me, or pick up your random neighborhood axe murderer off the street, at least I know the chimes won't set him off, and he does something really rational.

lol
Don`cha just hate it, when that happens?
Makes such a mess in car, and getting all that blood out of the fuzzy floor coverings is a bitch.

You'll have to excuse the rest of us here since this isn't the "Camry" forum, rather the "Solara" forum... and they never made a Hybrid Solara so we've also never seen a "Start Button".

Your Solara isn't a Camry?
Funny...Toyota says it is.
How is it, that yours isn't?

Are you trying to be funny or just a troll?

If you wanna heckle your own kind, then wander on over to the Camry Forum

And yes, we're all aware that the Gen 1 Solara was indeed based on the Camry Coupe through 2001, but there are very few similarities remaining other than maybe door handles and brake pads. Possibly an oil filler cap on the i4, but not sure.

I'm not heckling you.

I was just kind of confused as to why you asked me a question that seemed to have such an obvious answer.

I thought you were just yanking my chain, trying to get a reaction out of me, (which you did) when all I was doing, was contributing something I thought would be useful for the rest of the members of this forum.

It's pretty obvious you didn't appreciate (or even seem to understand) my contribution, simple as it was.

That's a shame, seeing as how you're supposed to be a Moderator.

I was only trying to post relevant information on a question, in the hopes that it would prove useful to other CAMRY-SOLARA owners.

I thought that this board was all about sharing information, and the title at the top does not say just Solara, it says CAMRY-SOLARA.

9phil9: First, since I know that you didn't get "lost" by wandering into this particular forum labeled CAMRY-SOLARA, since you had previously posted in both the CAMRY and CAMRY HYBRID forums before, then I don't buy any point of confusion here.

Secondly - my initial and subsequent responses have been aimed at yours in kind... that you seem to have been offended that anyone could not "get" that you were referring to "your" Camry Hybrid and its functions. Apples and Oranges - we get it.

Time to move on and bring this thread back on topic...
