Camry-SolaraGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Camry-Solara.
This is a discussion thread titled "Dealer installing new top", within the Camry-Solara forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
I have some problems with my 2006 convertible top and the Service people told me if I was not satified they would order a new top under warranty. So my question would be, is this replacement installation going to as good as the factory one??? I really don't want to have future problems because of some minor defects.
What kind of minor defects are you having??
If they replace it, it should be under a new warranty. Do they do this at the dealership or send it out? That is what I would be wondering. I see your in the same town as me and I have had great service here but then again I've had nothing major worng with my Sienna. Now I'm going to sell it and get my Solrara.
See ya around town !!
The top has four raised quarter sized bubbles on the rib and the inside headliner has wrinkles over the drivers head. Nothing that affect the tops operation just a apppearance defect. The car is six month old and was at the Dealer for the first time for service. Right now I just may tell them to install a new top on the car under the MFG warranty with a outside shop doing the work. Outside of that we love this car.
New replacement top installed and looks good. It appears they have upgraded the rubber seals and now have a rubber drip rail over the doors. Now the water won't drip on your head when it rains. . Very good service at my Dealership.

Interesting!
Any way you can share some pics of how that looks now? (close-ups of the drip rail) - Thanks!
