Why pay for extended warranty coverage when you get 3yr 36000 miles from the Factory and 100000 mile liftime dr train warranty from the Dealer. You are paying a lot of money for nothing and what is going to fail on Toyota????

There are a lot of items that are not covered by the 100,000 mile guarantee such as computers, electric windows & convertable top & more. Just one electrical problem on the convertable top & computer can run you a bundle. Also, with extended warranty they'll give you a loaner car if necessary. Flat bedding, meals, 3 day hotels & more are covered by extended insurance should you get stuck. On my 2000 Tundra I had both oxygen sensors go bad plus they had to replace both catylist converters. It was a nifty bill of $1800 but extended waranty covered it all except for my 50 dollar deductable. You never know? Coal miner in Florida

Most extended warranty coverage is for people who thinks the worst we happen. If you feel like paying for this coverage go ahead, but my opinion is it sill a waste of momey unless you bought a Sebring convertible.

Ask your self this questiom: Why was the dealer pressing so hard on this coverage??? Answer: It is money maker for them not a money saver for you..

Hmm... doesn't this same logic apply to auto insurance?

Granted - it is a profit deal for the dealership, but is someone wants to get the coverage to protect them past the factory warranty, then I wouldn't discredit their decision.

I had a new tranny and rear-end go in my Tundra at 55K miles that the extended warranty covered all but the small deductible. I didn't plan on that happening, but maybe I caused that bad karma by buying the coverage in the first place?

Well mayby it did, and I still say itis a waste of money for the buyer and a money maker for the Dealer.

About the dealer pressing so hard to sell me extended insurance - the fact is my salesman didn't even mention it. I decided to buy it 2 months after I bought the car. Coal miner in Florida.
