Default 2007 Camry Oil Change

Hi Everybody, I bought by 07 CE Camry a couple of weeks ago and the mileage is getting close to a thousand miles. I was wondering when and what kind of oil I should use for my first oil change.

Thankyou

Well...can I presume that you've read your Owner's Manual and / or the refill cap on the engine?

The factory spec calls for 5w30....

If you're really asking the question, "...which manufacturer's oil should I use?"....well that is a subject bordering on the same sensitive areas as politics and religion. (kidding)

There are some previous postings about synth -vs- dino-juice so I would suggest you do some searches.

My personal preference is Mobil1.

In the owner manual it says 2000 Miles. But a mechanic friend of mine told me that it would be better if i changed the oil at a 1000 miles because of the new engine and the motor being broken in. As for the type of oil i used full synthetic oil.

Thanks for the reply

Hi, turkman12345 .
I am in the same situation of you I bought the car a couple of weeks ago now on the 1,000 miles and is the same model as you CE. My brother recommend me to change oil on the 3,000-4000 range not wait until 6 months or 5,000 due to the heavy used, I commute almost 90 miles per day.

The dealer told me the car used synthetic oil so is suppose to support more millage.

Let's keep in touch each other since we have the same car and can discuss about features and about cars performance. I mounted last week the alarm systems and cost me about 210 dollars is not the want that start the engine since the CE does not suppported.

Other thing I am considering is to tint the glasses.
Tell about your extras.

Take Care.

It really irks me when I read things like this.

Please don't misunderstand me. I am not knocking the poster or any member here. I'm knocking ignorant car dealers who make false claims.

- Toyota does not fill their engines with synthetic oil.
- You can get well of 300,000 with conventional oil.

I've been doing it for many years.

Update: My car now has had another oil change and my car is at 4000 miles as of today and running strong.

camryboy2000, I was Wondering what kind of alarm system you got for you're car. I'm also intrested in getting an alarm system. I have also been doing research to find a good window tinting shop around me. I'm thinking of going 50% in the front and 35% in the back. Another extra i have been thinking about lately is getting new rims, I think I might get new rims when i have to change my tires however.

I looked on the intenet and anything darker than 70% is illegal in PA, for the front windows. I don't think the cops would pull me over for that but you never know. I'm not sure that places would even install darker than 70% for the front windows.

dino/synthetic oil --- all the high priced sport cars merceds bmw etc now use mobil one as the factory oil and have oil changes at 15,000 miles. I drove a 86 Cressida to 425,000 miles and had mobil one in the trans power steering motor and rear end and nothing failed my 2006 camary is using mobil one in the engine and amsoil in the transmission which is synthetic and does work the same as toyota type 4 trans fluid according to Amsoil. I am about to change my power steering fluid to mobil one synthetic trans fluid I change it every 30,000 miles. My 91 lexus ls400 well on it's way to 300,000 miles uses mobil one in everything and nothing has failed yet. I drive about 35,000 to 50,000 miles as a salesman and need my cars to last at least 300,000 to 400,000 miles so far so good. what ever oil you use dino or synthetic always change it including the transmission at about 25,000 miles.
