Whats Up All-
So it finally arrived, the Toyota manufactured Sirius satellite radio kit, part Number: PTS31-53060.
This is not the ugly kit you buy at Best Buy and "suction" to your window or have hanging out from your dash, this is the Toyota kit that integrates with your 6-disc factory radio.
I had this bad boy installed on Tuesday and I love it. A few brief points for everyone to assist with the buying decision.
Interior Antenna - Yes, Interior Antenna!! The antenna mounts to the right or left of your rear view mirror INSIDE your car. The antenna is good size. About an inch thick and the size of a donut. Beats having to add an ugly black exterior antenna.
Signal Clarity - Since the antenna is installed inside your car, I have noticed almost everything overhead interupts the signal. A bit irritating.
Dealer Charges - This is the holy S**T category but has its benefits. Install was $350!!
and along with the $260 charge for the Sirius radio and fit kit, OUCH. I was going to install it myself but it was a pain in the butt. Installing the brain behind the dash and running the wiring underneath the roof carpeting. I am gald I shelled out the cash.
Coupons, Coupons - I surfed the net and found a 25% off coupon at a Toytoa dealer in Texas and my local dealer matched it. THANKFULLY. I saved $162.50!
Good Investment, but as you can see by the above, there are a few improvements that can be addressed.
