Default Fast and Furious

I used to drive the 97 Corolla and since I recently bought the 07 Camry with the 2.4 it's been a big change. Usually when I used to merge onto the highway with the old Corolla I had to either go as fast as I could and hope I could merge in without having and accident or i would have to stop and wait for the cars all to pass by. But with the Camry and the 160+ horsepower this car fly's. I was recently at a redlight where the two roads merge onto one, and their just happened to be a Nissan Altima 2.5 next to me I looked at him he looked at me and wel when the light turned green we both flew he seemed to start out faster then me but I think it was the acceleration delay with my car. However I got in front of him before the two lanes merged together. I new he had to be racing becuase we were both going pretty fast.

Any one else had experience with racing their camry.

Default Re: Fast and Furious

I have the V6 and here's my story....

I was driving home from a dinner date in the Westchester area of Los Angeles. In this part of town there's still a few urban streets that are wide, long, well lit and usually empty on the weekends.

I was in the left hand turn lane when another car pulled up next to me. It was filled with some teens that must have thought that the old man next to them could be intimidated by some loud music and some jeers.

The turn arrow came on and I gave it a little gas...the other car zoomed ahead and drifted into my lane. I cussed and moved behind them, allowing them to make a wide turn...used the manual shift mode, gave that wonderful 3.5L some gas and BAM...took off around them.

The driver must have caught some flack from his passengers because he blew past me in a cloud of carbon exhaust.

We had to be doing 60+ coming out of the turn (I think I need some better tires because the OEM squeal like a stuck pig)...the other guy kept going...

...only to get tagged by an LAPD squad sitting on a side street!

I smiled and waved as I passed the other car and headed for the freeway.

Ahhhhhhh...revenge is a dish best served cold!
