Default Transmission cooler 4cyl. Camry(???)

I've got myself a 2005 Camry with a 4 cyl. and automatic transmission. I had U-Haul install a serious over-kill trailer hitch, and they claim the car is just fine for towing.

So I'm gonna hook up an open trailer with a 550 pound motorcycle aboard...... My concern is the weakest link, my auto' transmission. I know to take her outa overdrive, especially when ascending a hill, but how well is this thing gonna stand up to a 2,000 mile trip and a huge mountain betwixt???

I'm thinking I should add a transmission cooler and change out the fluid before the trip. I wanna know from folks here if this is overkill (transmission cooler), or if the car is gonna be just fine towing a motorcycle trailer & bike.

A cooler surely can't hurt.

A cooler can't hurt but I would be MUCH MORE concerned about the trailer...especially if you're talking about U-Haul. Do some research on the web (like LA TIMES) and you'll find some not too flattering news stories about recent accidents attributed to their trailers...

Just my $0.02.
