2002 camry le won't turn over

i have a 2002 camry le with 178,742 miles. so today i go to a local denny's to have some grub. i come out to my car and it won't turn over. check the batt cables and messed w/starter still nothing. i have a 1/2 tank so i know it's not that. i turn the key and all my seat belt, oil, and engine lights come on. just won't turn over. so i have it towed home, take the starter out take it to autozone where they tested it and say it's no good. i take it to kragen and they test it three times and 3 times it passes as good starter. the guy at auto zone was new there so i don't think he tested it right. the kragen guy said it could be my batt but it's a 1 1/2 old. i don't think it could be that.
please help, this is my only car and i realy need it right now. thanks

Do you hear a click when you turn the key?

yes. when i turn the key i hear the click and when i hold it to where it should start i hear a buzzing noise coming from under the car like the fuel pump or somethin. well i had it towed to my mechanic. so i guess it should be working in a day or 2 i hope. thanks for the help anyways.

What was the solution? I have a related issue with my 2004 Camry, turns but won't start intermittently.

I am having a similar intermittent problem with my 02 Camry. We're thinking it might be the ignition switch or relay - anyone else have ideas?

im guessin its the starter. the solonoid on the starter has been known to work intermittently. its not uncommon for a starter to fail when installed in the tranny, but seem to work fine when bench testing.

be sure to check all you connections to the batt, ground, and starter. be sure you got a batt with a strong charge, that will be sure to eliminate that as the culprit. if your battery and connections are good, and your starter is making a clicking sound, i got my money on the starter.

for sh!ts and giggles, try giving the starter (solonoid) a few medium raps with a hammer, wrench, dowel, or something. dont hit it so hard as to break something, the soloniod housing can distort really easy causing the gear mechanism to bind.

now if your starter works after a few medium hits, change it out.
