CamryGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Camry.
This is a discussion thread titled "Installing OEM Nav Kit", within the Camry forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
Has anyone here installed the OEM Navigation Kit that OEMValue.com has available, I'm planning on doing, but i hear the installation is very hard, and there is a problem with the harness.

no, it's not hard as you think. I just did it to my brother car last week
Installation is very hard... I have a 2007 Camry SE with the 6 disk JBL system. I ordered the factory nav system from OEMValue.com and the one I received was scratched and has a different "R-10" plug then is in the car. OEMValue.com says they can get a new R-10 plug but I have been unable to get them to reply to me at all since I purchased the unit. I have now made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and to the Attorney General's Office. They did reply to the BBB complaint by saying they are not responsible. I have also opened an investigation on Paypal... the sad thing is all they have to do is exchange this scratch unit out for another and tell me how to get another R10 plug.
Do not buy from OEMValue... there is a unit on ebay right now, with all the wires for $700.
ok, thanks for giving me the info on oemvalue. i see the one on ebay, but there is just something i dont feel right installing it myself, i'd rather have someone professional do it who would also give me a guarantee. i am also thinking about getting an aftermarket one, and just have crutchfield install it, i could also get the sirius and rear view camera. if anyone has an aftermarket on theirs please gimme some pics.

I bought a Pioneer AVIC Z1 and had in installed in our Sequoia. It was AWESOME, and very capable. It also played DVDs and had a 10 meg auto-archiving memory, so it learned every CD we plugged into it. The only down-side is the LARGE owner's manual and the relatively complicated operation.
I really wanted an OEM unit for my wife's Tundra, but we could never get OEM Value to respond to any of our emails. They're famous here for the worst service on the net (although there are some folks here who have had good experiences).
