I followed the owners manual instructions in regards to the Camry end of things and the Motorola manual for the phone with no problems.

Also setup my wife's phone for when she drives.

We paired 2 last week....very easy, except my husbands phone did not have bluetooth, we got him a new phone and it paired very easily.....as I told my husband....listen to the lady....she will tell you what to do.....he wasn't actually listening....I think he was trying to go too fast. Also my, salesman said if it was too hard for us to do he would do it for us.

In the past year I have paired:
-Motorola Razr V3c
-Samsung SPH-M500
to my 2007 XLE.
Both worked well following the Camry & phone manuals.
I continue to have these two phones paired

I had my 12 year old daughter do both of mine and her mothers as well.
I don't think it took her more than 10 minutes and everything works great.

I paired RAZR no problem. But it was finicky.

First, you need pair the phone. But make sure the RAZR's Bluetooth function is turned ON. Default setting is OFF. Look at RAZR's
owner's manual on how to turn it on.

That does not have that many phones and is out dated.

I had problems with the Samsung I had. I talked to the dealer and was given that site. If its out dated, where is the updated list? The cell phone companies made some models to work with some cars. All cell don’t work in every car. The other thing you could do is go to your cell phone store and ask them to show you the list of compatible phones. That is all I know how to fix your problem. NOT ALL CELLS WILL WORK...

Default Re: Bluetooth nightmare

People...come on...Bluetooth (also known as 802.15) is a PERSONAL AREA NETWORK (PAN) service that operates in the 2.4GHZ range.

There are no less than SIX different possible versions or implementations of the technology at this time. These include:
- Bluetooth 1.0
- Bluetooth 1.0B
- Bluetooth 1.1
- Bluetooth 1.2
- Bluetooth 2.0
- Bluetooth 2.1
- Bluetooth 3.0

The most common implementations you'll see today (based on age of devices out there) will likely be the 2.x implementations but I know that some manufacturers are still using chips that are complaint to the 1.2 standards.

Should anyone be bored enough to want to know the specific differences, I suggest you visit; Bluetooth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have no idea what version the Toyota implementation subscribes to but it is likely 2.x as it's new and I doubt that Toyota would balk at buying a $4 chip (v2.x) vs a $1.50 chip (v1.x). That being said...if you're not following the written instructions for the device, the issue could be signal interference or just that the implementation of your devices is incompatible with the reader unit in your car.

Class dismissed.
