questions about stereo installation(2004 camry)

hi everyone,

i was just wondering about how complex the stereo installation(deck, wiring, etc) is going to be for a 2004 camry. i went to my local best buy to see about buying a new deck so i could hook up my ipod(of course =P) directly to the cd player instead of using a tape adapter.

the sales associates at the best buy said that the wiring harness for an '04 camry was $124.xx because in '03+ cars, everything-air bags, electronically controlled seats, etc-are integrated with the wires to the cd player; or something like that..

i've been researching a little on the internets and i found nothing stating that the '04 camry has such a complex wiring system, and i definitely haven't run across a $100+ wire harnesses.

i was basically just wondering if anyone knew about any issues with installing new decks in 2004 camrys and if anyone could suggest specific parts i should use for the installation of the deck and four new speakers.

i realized earlier this week that there are two tweeter speakers at the top of the dash, so i'm not sure if that would lead to anymore problems with the installation.

so does anyone know anything about this? one of my friends told me that this specific component also controls your turn signals and whatnot.... i'm a bit concerned since this seems to be heading more towards professional installation instead of a do-it-yourself situation.

I just installed an after market deck in mine 04 Camry LE and it is pretty simple. You will need a wiring harness which cost $20 and a dash mounting kit for an 04 Camry which is also $20. To get the factory stereo out you first need to pop off the climate control panel which snaps right off and after that is off just pop off the plastic piece that goes around the stereo. Once you take all that off just unscrew the factory radio and pop it out.
