Question 1995 Camry Auto V6

I own a 1995 Toyota Camry V6 Automatic w/OD. The other day the Overdrive light on the dash began to flash, the check engine light came on and the transmission became "sluggish" from a dead stop. To be more descriptive, the transmission is acting like a manual shift when you use too much gas and let the clutch out slow. High rev's (between 2,000 and 3,000) just to get it too move and accelerate. All signs would lead to that the transmission s slipping and needs repair?? "Right?", wrong! its intermittent, it doesn't always do it. Sometimes it just goes down the road as smooth as can be and sometimes it acts up. When the car reaches about 20mph the slipping stops and normal operation continues. Even though the overdrive light is flashing the transmission shifts into overdrive with no issues. The car just turned over 100,000 mies and is in immaculate condition. I really hope to get to the bottom of this problem, I love my camry.

Make sure the fluid is full and get the check engine light code read.
It almost sounds like the car is operating in "limp mode". Get that code!
