07 Camry Engine Change at 3100 Miles
I own a 07 Camry LE. So far I have had 3 issues with it the most severe being an engine change at 3100 miles. The car developed a coolant leak so I took it into the dealer and they said the thermostat housing was leaking so they changed it. I figured okay so that was an easy fix, I was wrong. After driving the car to work I realized the coolant was still leaking so I looked further and found the problem myself. It was a 1/8" crack in the front of the block allowing coolant to leak from the water jacket. I took the car back last friday and just picked it up today. Toyota did an awesome job changing the engine but I am still dumbfounded as to why a Camry this young had to have such serious maintenance. Check your Camry engine blocks very carefully as the problem turned out to be a casting flaw in the block itself. Who knows how many may be affected.
