Default Rear window defroster/radio interference

After nearly 16 months of ownership I had to use the rear window defroster for the second or third time. I noticed that the FM station I was listening to suddenly had heavy interference and nearly disappeared. When I turned the defroster off it was clear and loud as usually. I have tested this problem several times and it seems to happen more if I am further away from the station. I also noticed that one of the window heating elements does not work and wonder if it has something to do with. Any suggestions? If someone had the same problem please let me know how it as fixed.

If your 07 is like our 03 Camry the radios antenna signal comes from one of the rear window ribbon circuits. It may be the ribbon area where you feel no heat which is supposed to be completely separate from the heater ribbon circuit. I'd question your dealer if that window heater circuit is inducing reception noise into the antenna circuit. Just a suggestion and maybe another member has experienced your problem and can add more. I don't get that interference between our rear window heater and the Nav/JBL system in our 03 Camry and we use the window heater a ton during the winter.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

Well, i have to answer my own question for everyones information. There was something wrong with the rear window antenna and defroster wires. The dealer had to replace the rear window and now everything works.

My camry does it too. We don't use the defroster that much so no big deal.

Yes, it's covered under warranty. The dealer even gave me a loaner.
