2001 Camry Emergency Brake Light

First post! Glad I found this site.

I drive a 2001 Camry, and for a long time, my emergency brake light has been coming on and off. Sometimes it comes on when I make a turn, then it comes off if I make another turn. Sometimes it comes on when I hit 20mph, or comes on when I hit 40mpg, or will come off when I hit a bumpy spot. Sometimes it comes off when I come to a stop, othertimes it stays on. I know my emergency brake is turned off the whole time, so what could be the problem? I hope that it is not serious. Thanks!

Check the brake fluid in the reservoir. It is probably low and when you go around a corner or speed up the fluid inside will splash causing the floating sensor to trigger the light. You also need to check th condition of the brakes as the fluid will have to have gone somewhere ( ie leak or worn down brakes ).

40 mpg that is good fuel milage.
