This is a discussion thread titled "2005 Camry LE Maintenance req. light", within the Camry forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
Hi,
Just bought our son a used 2005 Camry LE and he just told us the Maintenance required light came on. We know it has something to do with every I believe 5,000 miles to change oil and filter.
Our question is after changing the oil and filter how does he reset that
maintenance required light.
Any reply would be appreciated.
Thank you

Do you have an Owners Manual?

the dealer stated that he didn't have one and it wasn't in the glove compartment.
have to go and buy a repair manual at advance auto parts, but thought I'd ask on the forum to see if anyone knew how to go about resetting the light so he won't have to see it after he changed the oil
thanks
The system must be reset after the engine oil replacement. Reset the system by the following procedure:
1. Turn the engine off with the trip meter A reading shown. (For details, see “Odometer and two trip meters” on page 133 in this Section.)
2. Set the ignition switch at ON while holding down the trip meter reset knob. Hold down the knob for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates “000000” and the light goes off.
If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.
