CamryGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Camry.
This is a discussion thread titled "front dash rattle", within the Camry forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
Mine was very noisy and there was in fact a TSB performed by my local dealer and the rattles are gone. There are other rattles and squeaks that I'm working on.... never had these issues with any of my other Toyotas.
Anyway in may case the dash was put back together properly and everything worked fine and none on the squeaks come from the dash.
WHAT OTHER RATTLES DO U HAVE? my silver door inserts rattle a bit and something in the headliner near the back window rattles and is driving me crazy as well... but cant pin point what it could be...
For everyone that has a rattle in the front dash, mostly when the car is cold. There is a TSB out for this but I don't know the number. Apparently Toyota used the wrong thickness of insulation under the dash. The service bulletin recommends replacement which means removing the dash , replacing the insulation and re-assembly, per my dealer a 6 hour job. It was done on my Camry and the rattle is gone.
