Question red light next to the light knob for 00 camry

I have a 2000 camry with 69k. Today the little red light next to the light knob is always on and never seems to go off. I looked up the manual but had no clue what the little red light stands for. Can anyone help me out? What is this little red light indicating? Is it a big problem? What should I do now? Thanks so much.

I had a 99 Camry with the factory alarm. If I remember correctly, my alarm light was on the dash next to the dimmer switch for the dash lights. Maybe this is what you are talking about. I don't remember my light being on all of the time though, was only on when the alarm was activated.
