Default Torque Converter 2003 Toyota Camry

I own a 2003 Toyota Camry V6. It has a problem with hesitation, especially at highway speeds. For example, when driving at 65 mph, I will suddenly experience a series of hestitations, which almost feels like a pulsing, as if the engine is being deprived of fuel. It's very rough.

Took to the local Toyota dealership. First they tried replacing spark plugs. Next they tried a fuel additive, thinking there might be water in the fuel tank. Next they performed an EFI service. Now they think its a bad torque converter and have warned me that it will cost much to repair, if that is in fact the problem.

The car has 119,000 miles, mostly highway driving.

I've not seen this problem discussed elsewhere. Has anyone heard of it? Thanks.

did anyone check or replace the fuel filter I would also check with a transmission shop about the converter it dosen't sound like a converter but a problem with fuel getting to the engine or possibly a computer glitch.

like the person said check the fuel filter then try adding a half bottle the big botttle of lucas fuel injector cleaner with a half tank of gas also have a local shop who works on camrys look into your air intake to see if it full of carbon the only thing left that might cause the problem is the air mass flow meter which is just behind the air filter. Good luck finding the problem.

Did you ever get it figured out? My car is doing the same thing. It also has issues getting into third gear. Sound familiar?

I have the same issue going on. Did you get it figured out? Also, is your Camry having issues getting into third gear?
