Default '05 Camry paint not holding up

The red paint job on our '05 Camry is not holding up well at all. Seems like anything that hits it has left a scratch...scratches around the door handles from opening the doors...looks like any little thing that's ever hit it left a scratch thru-out the body...plus etching over the front end and hood from love-bugs. We bought this car in '05 from Toyota so I think it's the original paintjob.

We have a blue '95 4Runner and it's paint looks practically perfect. We maintain and drive them both the same. So what's the story?
