hmmm... does that make sense though???

that means i will have to make a custom button to fire up the heating on the mirror??

I can let the ignition take care of the folding...

let me know

Yes or tie into the rear window defroster like factory.

+ you will have to run extra wires to the mirrors for the heat function

Njerald, ur tha man again! hahahaa... window defrost button sounds like a good option... coz i hate drilling a million holes in my car anyways... PLUS, i had to drill a fresh hole for my foglights back then.. it was done very unwillingly but had no choice...

hmmmm if i had 3 pins only... or 4?.... dont i need to modify the stock connector coming from the car? or JUST the connector from the new mirror?

Here's my plan!

I would like to bind the power heating (from the new mirrors) to my rear window defroster button (stock)…

So when I turn on rear window defrosting, it’ll activate my power heating on my mirrors…

I would like to bind the power folding to my ignition so whenever I turn on/off my car, the mirrors will fold/unfold…

The power folding will be a little challenge as you will have to have a relay so that when power from the ignition is cut off, that always on power is supplied to fold the mirrors and when power is supplied to the relay that the mirrors unfold.

Just more planning, supplies and wiring.

at this point, how is that Japanese Connector gonna help me if i was to execute such connections?

or i can do the same thing but i have to wire out from the harnesses of the rear window defroster and from the ignition??

I'm currently troubling the connectors part right now.

I have my mirrors painted already

What Japanese Connector are you talking about?

Troubling??

Sounds like you are way over your head.............

Draw everything out, wires, wire runs, wire colors, connectors, tie-ins, etc.

haha... it's a bit tough... i know nothing about wirings.. i'm more of an IT guy...

the OEM converter that was mentioned long ago... but nobody could get their hands on one.. (cuts the time in half)

I have no knowledge towards connectors and soldering.... I have no clue how to test each wire either sigh

Yes, it's stupid to sell an aftermarket mirror with a connector that is not available in 95% of the world and then say the part can't be supplied.

I hope your backyard mechanic/installer has some knowledge or you are going to have problems (car and $$$$$$$$$). Have him draw it all out for you with all that I mentioned............... Maybe that will wake him up.

You are planning to do a lot more than I did (defroster tie-in, extra wiring and auto fold).

My writeup described and showed the switch for my Power Fold. You said you wanted auto fold/extend with the ignition which is much more complicated.

I had wires already hooked up by the factory and run to my mirrors for the Heat function. Do you have that?

I planned everything out (in my mind) with copies of all applicable service manual pages for wire connections/colors/locations............

I knew what I wanted to do and did it w/o problems. There are a lot of things to go wrong with hookups/operation in your electrical system.

It is very easy to identify the wires and function examining the mirror.

After identifying , it is easy to check all functions except heat using a 9v, 12v, 15v battery from a hand power tool.

Mine were:

Heat = Black-white and Black-white

LED = Purple and Black

Horizontal = Red and Brown (as a common)

Vertical = Blue (uses brown above as a common)

Fold = White and Grey

What yours are, God knows..........
