1997 camry flex pipe?

I just bought a 1997 Camry le and need to know how difficult is it to repair the exhaust flex pipe on the v6? Do I have to replace the whole catalytic converter? Is this a common repair?Thanks

I found out this is a common problem.....the pipe is not cheap $350. I did find a local exhaust shop that will cut out the flex part and install a new one for $100. I think that is a deal!!!!!!
