Yesterday I purchase a used 03 camry with a sunroof. When i close it rests in the wrong position , about 1/2 inch below the roof line . I can stop it right at the roof line but its rare it finds home poistion. I clean and lubed it but it seems not to be a sticking issue but more on a timing issue in the gear pack . Has anybody had this problem as well ?
1. Push and hold the “TILT UP” switch until the moon roof glass reaches the full tilt up position. Once the moon roof glass is in the full tilt up position, release the “TILT UP” switch.
2. Push and hold the “TILT UP” switch for approximately 11 seconds.
The moon roof glass will begin to move. Continue to hold the switch while the moon roof glass cycles through the entire range of positions, returns to the full close position, and stops.
3. Confirm that the AUTO operation features work for open, close, tilt up, and tilt down.
Could be different for yours. Check your Factory Service Manual......
