2007 Camry LE Center Console Question

As you can plainly see from the title of this thread, I have a 2007 LE...I have a two part question about the center console for this august body of automobile experts.

QUESTION #1: A recent car trip with my dog has resulted in a couple of claw marks on the padded arm rest portion of the console. Does anybody know if you can remove that section? I was thinking about possibly having it recovered...perhaps in something more padded and maybe use leather (or synth-leather).

QUESTION #2: I seem to recall that the XLE version of the console adjusts / slides. Does anybody know if the top portion of the console from an XLE would fit a LE console?
