Default 04 Camry Issues

My Dad and my Aunt both bought 04 Camry's at Longo Toyota. MY Dad bought a V-6 SE, and my Aunt bought a LE V-6. Ever since the SE was new they make a thud when you hit a bump. It sound like there is something loose in the truck, but there is not. My aunts LE does not have this problem. MY dads SE has 5100 miles now, and has been in the dealer 6 times. A factory Rep came in to look at it. He heard the noise and admitted that there was a problem , and recommended that the dealer replaced the entire Passanger Side rear suspension. The noise went away, but came back 500 miles later. They have greased the bushings also, and replaced the sway bar. The noise always re-appears. It going in for the 7th time now, and it will be the last, before it is traded in.

Does any on know what it could be?

It's a mystery to me what might cause that but if it went a way for a while after the rear suspension work it must be related to that area of the vehicle. My 03 Camry SE V6 doesn't make any noise on bumps at all. Is it a Kentucky built unit or Japanese unit?

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???

If the VIN starts with a J it's a Japanese built unit. Mine was built in Japan as it's original owner was someone working for Toyota in the Torrance area. I assume the west coast may get more of the Japanese production because it's the closest to Japan. It doesn't mean the quality is better because ours shows about as many TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) as the Kentucky built units and some are unique to each build location.

Mine had the same right rear suspension thump over bumps also. I have just noted it as part of the suspension and lived with it for the past 10 months or so. Mine has also did it since day one. SE V6.

What bothers me more is a rattle, wind noise, vibrations, mirror aerodynamic problem I have on the right hand side since day one. In the drivers seat it sounds like the moon roof, but in the passenger seat it is clearly coming from the passenger outside rear view mirror or right before the mirror in the hood area. I can't figure that one out for nothing.

my wife has a 2004 se with the same noises. The wind noise is possibly the molding around the windshield it has a raised edge on it and I have seen some that donot have this is it possible they installed it upside down on some vehicles? It also has the suspension noise you were talking about.
