Default Nitrous

Just wanted to post my results in case anyone was interested in doing this. I put on the ZEX 82021 wet N2O kit ad started out at the 55 pill. What a big mover! It hits nice off the line and pulls like a bear. Now, at 80mph, and you go WOT.. it is like a nudge... not as pronounced...
Just an FYI.... I will post snaps as soon as I get a chance.

Latest update:

I wanted to see HOW much of the 10lbs I had used.... I had no idea. Been running for almost five days on same fill. Temps have been modest, in the 60-70 range. I had gone HOG WILD, really... it is such a kick. So, I took it to the fill station and had the guy weight it. I used 4 1/2 lbs... not even HALF!
He was amazed. Based on what I can tell and keeping track of the time I am spraying, I guestimated, it was about 5 minutes. So, he and I figured I would get about.. 8-9 minutes run time out of the 10lb. NOW... When you floor it, MAX I was in it for MAYBE..... 15sec... that is the LONGEST... I average... 3-7 sec..... run.... Just an FYI.

02 Camry.. not a problem! What engine? V6 or 4Cyl?

I am installing one on a friend of mine's 02 Solaria... (spelling).
We are putting it in this weekend. He has the V6 SLE.

If it is the V6, then the 65 shot is fine... even 75 shot is cool. If it is te 4Cyl, then max.. to me.. would be the 65 shot... I would run the 55 on the 4Cyl.

Nitrous is more of a torque adder than an HP adder. That is the misconception everyone has. Also, let's say you have a car with 200 HP to the wheels at 6000 RPM. You put a 100 shot on your car. That does not mean you have a 300 HP car. That 100 is spread out over the whole power curve. I am sure you know this but this is for those who do not know. I love nitrous. I had a 75 shot @ 900psi on my 95 civic ex and the mustangs could not get me. (wet sytem that is, dry sucks) I willl now be installing on a 79 Bandit Trans Am. Put a 75 shot on your car, it will hold just fine. Just watch your bottle pressure. @ about 1100psi is a 100 shot with 75 jets.

Default Re: Nitrous

Exactly,
I When I spray off the line, it comes on strong, then sorta falls as the rpm's build, then when I shift, and the rpm's drop, I can feel it pulling harder the lower the rpm's are... when I shift from 2nd to 3rd, is the most pronounced, as that is a larger ratio change than from 1st to 2nd.

Torque is what you want anyway, HP is a number computed from torque.
Amen!

No, I called and the track was not open. I was told that it will open THIS Sunday, Feb, 12th. I was told that the state inspector found a few issues, and the worst one wa a clogged drain for the track. Basically, small stuff, but until they address and fix them, it can not open. SO... it is THIS Sunday. Again, I will keep you posted....

Talking Re: Nitrous

Dagnamit! the track was not open AGAIN this weekend! It rained again on Sat, and the temps were cold. Track decided it was better to wait until a dry, slightly warmer day. *sigh*... I will keep you posted. BTW, I have been doing some research, and found that you do NOT need any special lisense or permit to purchase Nitrous Plus. Nitrous Plus is the "industrial" nitrous, which is mixed with a trace amount of sulfer dioxide (rotten egg smell) to discourage abuse. It is mixed at 100ppm with the N2O. So, I called the Linde gas dist. place here, and was told by a very nice person, that I could get a 100lb cylinder (96.7lbs to be exact) for 100 bux. I rent the cylinder and when it is empty, just bring it back and they fill it up again. So, for basically $1.00/lb and some change, I can be filling my OWN bottles! Heck, the going rate now is $4.00/lb. If I get the refilling station and a 100lb cylinder, I would advertize I can fill them and make a killing. There is only ONE place in the 3 cities area that fills them. Heck yea. Dang, that bottle would pay for the next two! And from that point on, it is all gravy. Ok, it is just an idea for now, but an attractive one!
