Hi, my first post here.
I just bought a 97 Camry LE today and the battery was dead. I replaced the battery and the radio panel is showing a SEL message (I think its sel). My buddy that I bought the car from can't find the handbook and can't remember how to reset the radio.

It probably says "SEC".
I need the radio model # before I can help you.

I have a 1995 Toyota Avalon XLS. I recently had some private mechainc work done. He unplugged the battery. I guess this is the first time this was done. I bought the car used so I don't have the security (SEC) code for the CD-player/Stereo. Is there a global unlock code? I have 3 more chances to enter the right code before "HLP" gets displayed and I have to take it to the Dealership. I tried the easy ones like 000 and 123. My deck's model number is AD1700 and the 3-CD-Changer's model # is L4200. Please help. THanks

I have a 96 Avalon with a AD1700 radio and L4200 cd player. I need the code for the radio. Duh, yep knowing I should have put a jumper on the cables I didn't and lost the anti theft on the radio.
I know how to reset the radio after I end my 10 chances. That is by pressing 1 4 6 and pressing the on/off button. That will get rid of HELP and take you back to your ten tries. But I assume there is a code that can b used by going ^1 or d1. If anyone has and idea short of going to the dealer I'd appreciate it. Bought it and my Tundra used and no codes in either, thanks. dave
