07 Camry Keyfob programming.

Hello all!

I just picked up an 07 Camry, LE. I noticed in the owners manual it refers you back to the dealer to change the settings for your key fobs (turn off the beeps and make all doors unlock at the first press)

The dealer? Did anyone figure out how to do this on their own?

A Toyota hand-held tester is needed to customize the Body Electronics system settings.

Are the programming pages you posted specific to the '07, or would they be applicable to the '06 or '05 as well? I have an '05 and I can see a couple of settings in there I'd like to change.
I'd assume the dealer would treat this tweaking as a "warranty" item, so I'm sure it'll cost me to make the car work the way *I* want it to.

These "CBEST" options for toyota/lexus are usually configured by the dealer with their CBEST tools. I usually get changes done for free when i walk-in for the 1st scheduled service. I have a list of what I want changed and they do it.

I don't know if one can buy a CBEST tool. Even if they did, I don't know how one can get the programs and firmware unless you work at the dealership.

The TOYOTA tester that is used to change the custom settings is
$5000 for the base tester, everything like the printer and memory cards and updates are extra.
I dont think they will sell you the programing cards unless your a dealer, maybe a TECH.

Geeeze, and I thought my ODB2 scan tool was expensive.

There is another scan tool coming out for the dealerships for the 2007's and up. I can just imagine what they're going to cost.

The older scan tool wont work on the newer 2007's and up

I hate it when that happens. Kinda got them by the cahonies.

We usually customize for free, to good customers.

The screamers have to pay.

I want to turn off the lock and unlock beep, change to "one press" to open all doors and set the headlights to turn off instantly instead of after 30 seconds.

Is this a big deal or a 5 minute change?

Brought the car in last Friday and had it done. The woman who makes the appointments didnt have a clue but atleast the mechanics did.

Like you said, took about 20 minutes, thanks for the documents!!!
