Default 2000 Camry V6 Non Clearance motor?

First post here. Great forums!

I have a V6 00 Camry with 80K on the ticker and just wanted to know if the V6 was a motor that had clearance issue with the valves and pistons if a timing belt was to break.

Thanks.

Is it the 3.4? I have a 2000 Tundra with the 3.4 and it is a non-interference engine design and if the belt breaks you are just stranded. Someone somewhere on this site had a link to a timing belt mfg. and they listed every engine plus the replacement belt and if it was a interference or non-interference engine. I just changed the belt myself last month @ 105K and the belt looks in really good shape but one of the two idlers had some play in the bearing so time was a ticking. Always replace the water pump, both idlers crank and cam seals plus the belt. I replaced the other belts as well because I was there. PS, alt, and ac.

According to the timing belt pdf at www.gates.com , it appears that all the Camry V6 engines from 1998 on are the interference type. The pdf may be wrong so this is posted FYI only. Might be worth your while to check a couple of sources.
FWIW
YMMV

No it is the 3.0L I believe. Anyone changed one on a Camry? This is my first Toyota and I am still getting used to working on it.
